Are hissing sounds audible during acceleration?

I haven't checked the VTG yet. I think what I'm seeing in the upper left corner at the back of the engine is the VTG unit (but I'm not 100% sure). When I disconnect the vacuum hose, there is vacuum pressure there when accelerating while the engine is idling.
At the VTG pole, which I probably can only feel and not see, I haven't done anything yet... You don't want to break anything...
Can I move it (or, to put it another way, should I be able to move it) with the engine turned off?
There are no signs of martens.
Here's some additional information. The vehicle is quite "dirty" and hasn't been to a workshop for at least 5 years (except for oil changes).
The release bearing is completely worn out (making noises when idling), the auxiliary heater pump is making noises, and there's a humming/beeping sound coming from somewhere in the rear left area, between the engine and the firewall (even with the engine off).
However, all of this has been happening for the last 5,000 km (except maybe the beeping), and the Touran still had power then. That's why I didn't mention it specifically at first.
The car had only two female previous owners until the specified mileage, and as long as it was "somewhat operational," it never saw a repair shop.
Unfortunately, it doesn't really work anymore.
Regards,
Dirk.
