Can VAG testers now log data series?

Or are devices like the 5052 & Co. still just taking snapshots of data, which could potentially lead to unnecessary repairs? For example, if a technician happens to catch the peak of a large (but harmless) pressure surge and then instills a lot of fear in the customer about potential turbocharger and consequential damage?

To the best of my knowledge, the latest version of the VAS PC cannot log data series.
Unfortunately, I don't have a current VAS tester, but that wouldn't make much sense anyway. If so, that would be a function for the PC.

The icon_lol.gif here at this location does things like that with VCDS, when the workload is good... icon_wink.gif
