Roomster Tailgate Won't Open: Remote Button Issue (Solution)

"I have a Škoda Roomster, manufactured in 2008, where the tailgate no longer opens with the button. However, it can be opened with the key. Which control unit controls this component? Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this?"

The buttons tend to leak from the top because they are not properly sealed.
Disassemble it and see what kind of water is coming out; a new button might fix the problem.

I think I've found the error.
The driver's side cable for the car door is broken (I'm surprised anything was still working, since most of the cables are disconnected). Therefore, he didn't know the door was open, because the tailgate cannot be opened from the outside at a traffic light (you have to open a door first, then the tailgate will unlock again).

You should have known that the trunk wouldn't open after a certain amount of time after a trip.
After normal unlocking, it should normally unlock.

Well, a preliminary error scan would probably have been helpful.

Here, we can clearly see again how easily one can be misled by seemingly trivial things, and how essential VCDS is for modern vehicles.
