Hello everyone,

After a long time, I've finally logged some information about brake pad replacement.
However, I can only find a single point in the log that *might* be a brake squeal (red box).

Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

"Question:"
-> Does it only start wiping at a certain speed?
-> What is the frequency?
-> I had the windshield wipers set to intermittent. According to the status display, the "brake wipe" function was enabled.
-> Has anyone ever done a comparative analysis?

I think I may have read something about a 5-minute interval in an SSP document before (but be aware, this is a vague recollection). Therefore, my question is: what is the time interval between your log points?

If the X-axis were in seconds, the value of 5 minutes (300 seconds) would have been exceeded between values 770 and 1180. However, I suspect that the X-axis represents the measurement number, and that the measurements are taken much more frequently than once per second.

Greetings.
Guste.

The intervals may vary depending on the software version. However, I don't have the exact specifications.

The original SSP from 2006 states 5 minutes.

Hi everyone,

"Of course, guste was right; I had accidentally chosen an unfavorable representation of the X-axis. This has now been corrected. The X-axis represents time in seconds..."

Thank you!

Hello!

Could it be that we've made a mistake in our thinking?! The pressure sensor that Martin mentioned... isn't it located at the hydraulic brake unit (HBZ)? The individual pressures of the brake circuits are either not being evaluated at all, or they are only made available for diagnosis. Therefore, the sensor I recorded cannot register the dry wiping process. I believe the correct approach to checking the dry wiping process is to monitor the ESP pump to see if it is being activated.

Right or correct? X Any better suggestions?

Will I also see the brake dust on a parked vehicle?

The background is that my 3C is disassembled and sitting around, and tomorrow (definitely in the rain) I'm going to be riding a longer distance on my 1K.

I could log that.

Does the 1K also have the windshield wiper?

The MK60 microcontroller has at least one bit for that purpose in the MWB10 module.
Okay, so I'm going to water the track with the watering can tonight after all... I'm on call anyway.

Hm. I don't know if the 1K model has the same feature, but I suspect it does. If the status bit changes to "on" when the windshield wipers are activated, it should work, right? Is there a diagnostic code for the pump operation? If so, log it and see what happens. I'm curious!

Hm. Okay. I'll take another look at it in the next few days. Have you found the maintenance manual (MWB) that shows how the intermittent wiper function is turned on/off depending on the wiper lever position?
