Hi.

I just drove into the car wash, and as soon as I was inside, I turned off the engine, and the instrument cluster started flashing the spiral icon.

- AI switched back to German icon_smile.gif
- took a picture in the car wash.
- Ignition completely off.
- Restart ignition (no more messages).
- Drove 3 meters forward.
- Connect VCDS.
-> NO errors (except for rear fog light and air quality sensor).

I always thought that the errors the AI displays about the engine were saved.

The crystal ball indicates --> occasional error in the system icon_lol.gif.
Anything is possible - you know that. Just wait and see...

Yes, but I thought that "sporadic" things are usually described as "sporadically."

Okay, I understand. Please provide the German text you want me to translate.
Code:
02823 - Verriegelungsbedingungen fĂźr ELV nicht erfĂźllt
            000 - - - Sporadisch
             Freeze Frame:
                    Fehlerstatus: 00100000
                    Fehlerpriorität: 7
                    Fehlerhäufigkeit: 2
                    Verlernzähler: 105
                    Kilometerstand: 120551 km
                    Zeitangabe: 0
                    Datum: 2014.02.07
                    Zeit: 17:05:21

And most importantly, it was interesting to see that.
Otherwise, people tend to perceive such situations as "impossible" and suggest that the other party should "take a closer look."

Therefore, also crystal ball icon_idea.gif.

I'd like to wait and see what happens first. It seems he wasn't able to lock it in time...

NO.

The ELV message is likely this standard error, which also has a TPI and now a separate ELV component.
Here's the translation:

"This should only be an example to illustrate that there are occasional errors that need to be documented."
And I thought that at least one of the errors reported by the AI would be fixed.

The error that the AI presented to me today regarding the engine was so infrequent that it didn't even get logged.

Since the AI sent me to the workshop:
What would they have done?
Memory full... so either "Okay, keep going" or search for a phantom for thousands of EUR. icon_eek.gif

"Engine malfunction workshop" is still the old text in the MFA random generator.
Starting with the next revision, the message "Transfer €993.95 to your VAG workshop" icon_razz.gif will be displayed intermittently.

1) Did the error occur when you turned off the engine?
I don't quite understand: When I turn off my engine, the ignition is also off, and I no longer have any displays in the instrument cluster (only the radio remains on when the engine is turned off. However, the ignition is off).

So: When exactly did this message appear? Was the engine off and the ignition immediately turned off, or something like that?

2) Why does the voice assistant have to be switched back to German after the engine is turned off? I understand that you live near France, but surely you don't change the language every time you cross the border?

Generally, I would have also moved the story (from an unknown user) to the "Land of Myths" section. But because of you, corresponding forum posts (and our responses) suddenly appear in a new light.

Greetings.
Sure, here's the translation:

"Guste" is a German word that means "gust" or "gust of wind." It can also be used to describe a sudden burst of something, such as laughter or anger.

I can't quite piece together the exact chronological sequence of events anymore.

Quote:
But you don't, for example, change the language when crossing the border, do you?

Hmpf... somehow, still icon_rolleyes.gif.

Background:
"My" key makes AI work in German.
The second key in French... more of a playful addition.
"Meinen" SchlĂźssel hat Papas G+ gefressen (es gab mal wieder nen Frontschaden in meiner Familie), der liegt gerade weit woanders, daher fahre ich gerade mitm 2. Key.

Here's how I understand the process:

- I'm going to the car wash.
- Start the engine.
- If necessary (yes, I know, this is probably the crucial point), just briefly cut the power so that the engine coasts to a stop, but the ignition is still on... possibly even within the overrun time of the MSTG.
- At the very least, the AI will appear with a blinking spiral, as shown above.

- Fully equipped in the building.
- Take out the key.
- Son called: "Bring your laptop and cables."
- At the end of the course, briefly turn right and exit onto the road for about 3 meters.
- Son coming.
- No error codes stored.

I'll try to replicate this very short engine shutdown.
It's possible that simply stopping the vehicle is enough, but the MSTG (presumably a system or organization) might "not think about it" and suddenly, for example, detect a problem with the oil pressure.

- At the very least, the AI will then be standing there with a blinking spiral, as shown above.
Thinking about it from a different angle:
When I turn off the engine in my Polo or Ibiza – preferably with a cold engine – and immediately turn the ignition back on while the engine is still stationary, a loud warning beep comes from the instrument cluster, and at the same time, the oil pressure light illuminates or flashes red. This is likely because the oil pressure sensor is still reporting pressure, but the engine speed is zero.
Could this be the trigger for you as well? Because implausible oil pressure monitoring data would certainly be a reason to have the car taken to the workshop as a precaution... ?

It seems like a message didn't arrive on time somewhere... icon_wink.gif

There's probably something from Ratiopharm icon_wink.gif.

Suggestion --> move it to a place where it won't hurt anyone. icon_wink.gif

I also suspect there was some kind of communication issue between the MSG (presumably a system component) and the AI. For example, it might have been because you instructed the MSG to restart after a certain process, but it wasn't fast enough, or perhaps due to a voltage drop, for instance, caused by steering while the ignition is turned on.

I once turned off the engine while driving at 100 km/h and went around a curve. Thanks to the electric power steering, it wasn't a problem so far. Then the car slowed down, and I restarted the engine. At that moment, the steering wheel almost came out of my hands, and several warning lights and sounds appeared on the dashboard. Apparently, the voltage dropped so much due to steering and restarting the engine that the electric power steering system shut down...

Greetings.
Sure. Here is the translation of the text from German to English:

"Guste"

I know that, but it creates an error entry icon_razz.gif.

This was a sudden crash, and restarting will redirect.
