Golf V Door Panels: Are They Glued On?

I read the following in the Volkswagen magazine:

The production method also influences the insurance classification of a vehicle.
The outer skin of the doors is now being glued on – after all the technical components, such as power windows, speakers, and side airbags, have been installed!
In the case of a body panel damage, only this specific panel needs to be replaced, which is relatively inexpensive.

And what happens if the window mechanism breaks down, or if someone is dissatisfied with the operating system?
A disaster for every car audio enthusiast and DIYer if there's no other way to disassemble the door!

Visually, the new Golf isn't actually that bad (you'll get used to it), but the fact that it now has 40 instead of 16 control units, etc., doesn't make the new Golf very appealing to me!

What is your opinion on this, and who knows more about the doors?

As long as the control units are working, I think they are better because they significantly reduce the amount of wiring.

It's probably possible to disassemble the inner part, essentially a frame with the outer and inner sections glued on. Otherwise, it would be very difficult to maintain.

And it certainly seemed like there was more space left around the headlights, perhaps someone had considered ease of maintenance.

I don't quite understand your concern. It says "outer panel," which, to me, means the body panel that you see on the outside. So, if that's glued to the supporting structure, it shouldn't matter at all for things like power windows or the hi-fi system.
Do you know of a car where you can remove the outer skin from the door frame?

I believe the eFH (electric folding mirror), speakers, etc., are maintained in the same way as always, by removing the interior door panel. With none of my Golfs, I have to remove the outer metal panel of the door, which would be impossible since they are flanged.

And that's exactly the point. Often, after a minor collision, you might only have a dent in the metal panel, but not in the door's frame. Until now, a new door had to be installed if the dent couldn't be removed, because the outer metal panel isn't removable. And if that's different now, that would be a good thing.

Repairing a window lifter on a Golf 4 was already made incredibly difficult!
It took about half an hour to remove the generator carrier.

I understood it as if only the outer skin is being glued on. That would indeed be a real advancement. However, if the outer skin has to be removed for maintenance of the electric folding mirrors or central locking system, okay, I'd rather not say anything about that .
