AGR Valve Problems: Modern Engines & DPF Issues

A sealed AGR valve with a metal plate has sometimes worked wonders in older TDIs (e.g., 1Z). Can the same approach be used with modern engines (e.g., CFGx), or are there any problems associated with it?

Is the DPF potentially subjected to greater stress due to a blocked EGR valve?

The air mass measured by the mass airflow sensor (MAF) is significantly higher in the partial load range and can no longer be regulated to the desired low target value due to the activation (or deactivation) of the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system.
