After reading the error codes using VAG-COM, I found the following errors in my...
A6 2.5 TDI 4B Engine: AKE, Year: 2000
The following error was detected:
542 needle insertion devices for model G 80.
30-10, short-term, after plus.
Therefore, I checked the cable on the through-side of the control gate, and it was okay.
Then, using an oscilloscope, the signals from the bottom were checked, and none were present.
Now my question: Is it worth repairing the needle feed mechanism, or what are the alternatives?
What are the main reasons why these break?

Hi,
You definitely can't repair two spring nozzles with DIY methods. Even Bosch reconditions them in a central workshop under conditions similar to those used for precision manufacturing.
Why does a moving part break? Simply because it's moving. No mechanical system operates without any wear and tear.

Hello,
@Bertil:
The error message seems to indicate electrical problems -> check the wiring harness .
Or are such misleading error codes also displayed in cases of purely mechanical defects?
Therefore, I checked the line on the through side of the steering gate, and it is okay.
Therefore, I suspect a fault in the coil (defective NHG) - this has the same effect as a missing ground connection (short circuit to the positive terminal).
Sure, it could also be a cable problem... I'm not going to deny that.

Let me take a look at it over the weekend.
I don't really have anything to lose if this thing breaks.
Okay, let's take it apart and see if we can fix it. Maybe we can still salvage something.
If not, well, it only costs 400 euros...
