Okay, let me bring up a question from my circle of friends. A 2008 Touareg 2.5 TDI needs a new battery. It was ordered using the part number and has now arrived. The vehicle battery is supposed to be located under the driver's seat. What's the least invasive way to access it? Is there possibly a second battery? Would an uninterruptible battery change make sense, or is it perhaps even absolutely necessary?

Adjust the driver's seat to the rearmost position. Carefully remove the plastic covers located at the junction between the seat base and the floor. Unscrew the two Torx screws underneath. Fold the seat back almost completely, and the battery compartment should then be clearly visible in front of you.
In my opinion, the battery replacement should be possible without any external support.
To the best of my knowledge, there have always been two batteries in the ship's diesel engine (V10), and likely also in other engines if a stand-alone heater is installed. The second battery should be located in the trunk, but I have no idea exactly where.

Thanks in advance! We're hoping the battery will last until the weekend, so we won't have to replace it outdoors. I'll let you know how it goes.

Let's hope so!
I also have to fix this stupid rearview camera; it's not displaying an image anymore. But hey, at least it's definitely the wrong time of year for that!

Hi!
Does it sometimes need to be trained?
I don't want to spread any panic here, but this sometimes happens with newer and more expensive cars.

If my memory serves me correctly, this is a conventional Bleisaeuerling battery, not an AGM battery. The purchased battery size should match the installed one. For convenience, I agreed to buffer the Touareg with a large power supply to enable a seamless battery replacement.

Why would a 2.5 engine need an AGM battery... Start-Stop technology wasn't even available then.

However, the Touareg in question doesn't have that problem; you just need to replace the battery and it's fixed.

Could you please address the issue again?
So, how can I tell if a car battery needs to be registered?
Or where that is not necessary.

Okay, I've learned something new. What's the point of AGM batteries from the manufacturer's perspective, then? Is there a form of regenerative braking involved? To the best of my knowledge (which is admittedly incomplete), a small AGM battery is more expensive than a larger conventional battery. But it's good to know that these combinations exist. So far, I've only seen conventional batteries in very new cars, especially if they don't have a start-stop system.
Nevertheless, I believe that the battery replacement should not be complicated on that particular Tuareg model. Just release the seat, open the compartment, take out the battery, put in a new one, and you're done.

But that still doesn't explain the "advantage" of using an AGM battery here.
My current information regarding the VKs - there will definitely be a difference with the EK .
68 Ah AGM battery - €313 at VW/Audi.
72 Ah lead-acid battery - €185 at VW/Audi.
The B6 Passat has the 72-size AGM battery, while the B8 Passat has the 68-size AGM battery.
My B6 is currently running with a 68Ah AGM battery.
The nominal starting currents are the same.
So, you get a TDI started with both of them .
... why would there be an AGM in room 4F?
Possibly because AGMs start better, as they have a lower internal resistance (according to Wikipedia).
Transparency, Teamwork
... there was another T.
I don't know what the f*ck it was.

Are AGM batteries not more resistant to cyclic stress? Then, for example, high resting currents in a parked car would be an argument in favor of using AGM batteries.

Ready. It took an hour. The automatic start function is working again.
The expanded Moll was from the 46th calendar week of 2007. When it was subjected to the initial current, it ultimately became overloaded.
