A3 8L 1.8T Quattro: Incorrect ABS Coding

Hello,

I had the A3 mentioned above with me last week.
The ABS and ESP warning lights occasionally illuminate and usually turn off after restarting the engine.
According to the diagnostic trouble codes, the control unit is incorrectly coded. Unfortunately, I don't have the necessary information for this vehicle in VCDS, so I can't correct the coding.

It's not necessarily the case that the ABS/ESP is incorrectly coded. I believe it's more likely that other control units in the vehicle have been replaced or modified, and as a result, the ABS/ESP is now missing certain signals or receiving signals that are different from what it expects.

I would first clear the error code, investigate the vehicle's history, perform a function test, and see if the error reappears.

The error was cleared, but immediately reappeared sporadically. On the third or fourth attempt, it didn't reappear.
The ESP and ABS warning lights then turned off, but came back on a few days later.
The vehicle was purchased in January 2014 and first used in November.
Since I purchased the vehicle, I have been responsible for its maintenance, and no engine control units (ECUs) have been replaced since then.

Could the ABS control unit be defective, causing this error?
If the fault is not currently active, both the ABS and ESP systems will function as intended.

Perhaps update VCDS to the latest version (14.xx), as label files are frequently added or updated.

Possibly, because I only found vehicles with the engine control unit and ABS/ESP systems that you specified, as well as the exact coding you mentioned.

Do you perhaps still have the model year and the engine code?

Here's another thought. Are the mass connections and power supply working correctly? The other errors suggest a problem in that area. The fact that a code is occasionally recognized as incorrect could also be related.
What about the second key (adaptation limit exceeded)? It might need to be reprogrammed.

Hello,

I inspected the mass points under the battery today.
They looked rusty, covered in verdigris, and were mostly disconnected.
Cables clipped, new shoes installed, and the areas cleaned. Let's see what happens.
