Well Dieter, then someone ripped you off!

The engine is possibly from a G3, but the control unit is very likely from a G4 or A3!
The "-" function did not exist in the Golf 3, at least not until production ended in MJ97.
Are there later G3 models that have this feature?

By the way, I've driven my G3 1Z long enough to know that it could only accelerate using the GRA (acceleration) function, and that was controlled via the "SET" button. After exactly one year of using the G4, I still have problems with the GRA (Graphical User Interface) because it functions in the opposite way compared to what I'm used to.
