Is it possible to install speed increase and decrease modules (I'm not sure how to describe it) in a Passat 35i 3A5 with a 1Z engine? I suspect it might not be possible, but if it is, it would be great. Okay, here's the translation:
'Then I have another question about the other GRA (meaning the appropriate one): If you tap the clutch or the brake, does the GRA go back into standby mode, or does it immediately reactivate and start accelerating again?'
Best regards, WarLord.

If your engine control unit (ECU) supports this function, it shouldn't be a problem. My 1Z only knew how to accelerate; the other lever wouldn't have made any difference. Gruß Bertil

Well, it's just a small car, and I don't think it's capable of doing that. What about the clutch and the brakes?
Best regards, WarLord.

Problem-free - is available (assuming you mean the pedal position recognition). Gruß Bertil

No, that's not what I mean. I mean, does the GRA then return to standby mode when you release the clutch or brake pedal, or does it accelerate back to the set speed?
Best regards, WarLord.

Yes, by pressing the "Reset" button. That's definitely possible. Gruß Bertil

Yes, I understand that already. I'm interested to know if the car automatically accelerates back to the set speed immediately after releasing the clutch or the brake, or if you have to press the RES button (essentially like the new GRA system).
Best regards, WarLord.

Hi,
I think Warlord just wanted to know what normally happens when you brake.
Brake or clutch -> Readiness.
Res(et) -> accelerate again.
You can therefore brake or clutch without any risk... I use it as an "on/off switch" and leave the GRA (presumably a system or feature) constantly on, activating it only via set or reset.

You have a newer car, right? Do you have the GRA lever with one button or the one with two buttons? I'm especially interested in how the 1Z version performs. You understood what I meant.
Best regards, WarLord.

Hi,
Yep, using an ASV machine.
There's a slider for on/off, but you can slide it past the "ON" position to "RES" (it doesn't click into place there). In addition, there is also a button for "SET".
In standby mode (ON), tapping the SET button initiates the programming of the current speed, but interestingly, this only works if you are applying at least a little bit of throttle. RES restores the previously selected speed.
In active mode, tapping SET results in a change of approximately -1 km/h, while tapping RES results in a change of km/h. Holding the button down will decelerate or accelerate.
In track 1, only one of the two directions should be active - see the other posts.
Best regards,
Jan. 1Z5 CFHF / AHB H4D

Just a small note regarding Jan's description: there are two different types of GRA levers in the G4.

One works as Jan describes, while the other (since 05/01) has a +/- toggle switch on the side.http://www.michaelneuhaus.de/golf/pic/g4_gra.jpg{MARKER} Gruß Bertil

Hi warlord,
The 1Z behaves exactly as Jan described.
The speed reduction input is missing on the transmission.
Best regards, Rudi.

Do you mean on the steering wheel? Our G4 has a GRA lever that can only be turned on. All the other buttons are located on the steering wheel. VW Golf III TDI Avenue, MKB 1Z, EZ96

Opel Vectra C SW First Edition, MKB Z19DTH, EZ05

My 1Z had the entrance, but
... The "-" function is implemented via the "RES" function, and the reset signal is wired throughout the system. However, the STG software cannot translate the longer press of the "RES" button into the "Slower" command. I think that's what Rudi meant.
By the way, the G4 has the "+" function on the "RES" button and the "-" function on the "SET" button, while the G3 has the opposite configuration ("SET" = "+"). Gruß Bertil

"Yes, they do exist. However, that's part of the standard equipment or comfort features." Normally, the turn signal switch is located where the GRA (Gaspedalrückholautomatik - accelerator return automatic) controls are. Gruß Bertil

Hi Bertil,
You're right! Typed faster than expected again .
By the way, RES does not stand for 'reset,' but for 'resume,' meaning 'continue.'
Best regards, Rudi.
