Audi A4 B6 Window Regulator Noise - Fix It!

I'm having a problem with the driver's side electric front window on my Audi A4, B6, 1.9L TDI, AVF, FYA.

When the device is shutting down, there's a loud noise, almost like a "clunk!" I replaced the fuel head (FH), and after that, I started noticing this noise. I have absolutely no idea what could be causing this sound. The noise only occurs during shutdown, when the fuel head reaches its lowest position.

It only worked intermittently. This error still persists.

Bei meinem früheren 8E5 hatte ich selbiges Problem. Habe darauf hin den Fensterheberschalter / Einheit fahrerseitig gegen ein orig. Replacement part installed.
The problem with the automatic up-and-down function was resolved, and the noises at the end stops were gone.

Part No.

- 8E0959851C for double switch (electric windows only for front).
- 8E0959851B for a quad switch (electric windows, front and rear).


Use an original part; it will last longer than a replica.

I will replace the switch and use an original part, just like the door handle was replaced with an original VAG part. I'm just not clear on what function the switch has to eliminate the clicking noise. It must mean that the switch has other functions "built in."

I will provide feedback once it has worked!

This can actually be ruled out, as the FH unit was installed exactly according to the original maintenance instructions.

All clips and fasteners were correctly installed and secured in their designated locations. The factory-installed screws, which had been lubricated with "Schraubenfest," were re-lubricated with "Schraubenfest."

"As soon as the new electric window switch arrives, I will systematically investigate the issue, trying to pinpoint and eliminate the fault."

Following the initial suggestion from Mpire, thank you again, this will be implemented first. If that doesn't achieve the desired result, I will continue to investigate and also follow your suggestion, checking everything.

Okay, now let's move on to the solution of the problem:

After the electrical switch was replaced, the noise persisted.
Danach wurden alle Schraubverbindungen geprüft! Und siehe da, die Schrauben zur Befestigung der Türscheibe an den Gleitschuhen auf den Führungsschienen hatten sich gelöst, so dass nur beim Herunterfahren dieses Geräusch entstand, da hier sehr "hart" gegen die Endanschläge der Führungsschiene für den FH gefahren wird->imo nicht die allerbeste techn. Lösung!

These screws cut into the plastic and are located on the outside of the door. The actual connection of the door panel is achieved through a form-fit connection within the sliding shoes. According to Audi, these screws should only be tightened to 5 Nm.

Based on my current experience, in addition to the assembly instructions, it is recommended to operate the folding headrest (FH) several times before the final assembly, and then retighten and recheck the screw connections. This can prevent problems caused by "settling" (loss of force) in the screw connections. Furthermore, the installation and removal of the folding headrest on an Audi A4 B6 is not particularly easy and is quite time-consuming.
