Hello everyone,
Here, some time ago, we discussed the topic of:
'A ticking or tapping sound is coming from the engine compartment.'
Some suspected valves, or simply resonances, like...
Me too...
It was the same for me.
I didn't have the underbody protection installed on my car at that time.
At that time, I could also hear a distinct tapping sound (whatever it was).
listen.
Since I reinstalled my underbody insulation...
It's gone once it's in.
Fazi: In my case, it was resonances coming from the trouser leg, or...
Transition pieces.
Best regards.

Hi,
Interesting observation! It at least confirms the assumptions from back then.
I have all the soundproofing materials in place, so nothing was removed, and I'm still experiencing these noises. However, I suspect the noises are probably highly dependent on the specific construction of the car, and there are definitely differences between them.
Furthermore, the noise is temperature-dependent; it's more noticeable when it's warm, which also aligns with the combustion noise theory, as temperature is a parameter that affects the injection timing.
Perhaps I should check to see if all the insulation parts are properly installed; you never know with my "expert" workshop.
