It's quite old, but has this problem ever been solved? I'm currently dealing with a similar issue, except in this case, all four glow plugs have already been replaced, and the engine is still smoking heavily and misfiring, but only at idle, with temperatures ranging between 50 and 70 degrees Celsius.

Most likely, the PDE is leaking (either internally or to the ZK) or is defective.
