Hello icon_cool.gif

I installed an aftermarket 2-DIN radio in my 2003 Passat (model 3BG).
But I also need an adapter for the original multifunction steering wheel.

It has a Quad-Lock output; it previously had a Delta unit installed.

Used the search function already, but unfortunately, I haven't found anything icon_sad.gif.

Could you possibly help me? icon_smile_thumb_up.gif

Sure, I'll translate the text from German to English while preserving all the icon_mrgreen.gif exactly. Just provide the text and I will give you only the translation, without any explanations.

Thank you in advance }.

Hi there,
When installing a (compatible) Blaupunkt radio, this adapter was often available as an accessory. Based on my experience, I would say that the steering wheel control functionality doesn't necessarily work with every radio. Did you check that beforehand?

There are compatible adapters available from AIV and ACV, but it depends on the manufacturer of your radio; they are not universal. Some manufacturers, such as Kenwood or Alpine, also offer these adapters directly.

I checked today, and the JVC radio has a cable for steering wheel control.

But I can't find the pins for the MFL on the Quadlock connector. (not even the website turns up anything icon_sad.gif).

Does the Quadlock connector have multiple pins for the MFL, or just one?

If so, I guess I'll need an adapter, right?

Thank you in advance icon_smile.gif.

Given the year your Passat was manufactured, it will use the CAN bus system. Without an adapter, nothing will work.

Okay, I've finally found the solution! icon_smile_thumb_up.gif (thanks to you and vocational school).

A CAN adapter is needed to filter and convert the CAN signals so that the car radio can communicate with the multifunction steering wheel (MFL).

And I found the matching part at ARS24 icon_biggrin.gif.

Works perfectly!

Thank you for the help icon_smile_thumb_up.gif.
