Hello everyone!

I'm planning to replace the right-hand temperature flap actuator (part number V 159) on my T5 (manufactured in 2008) soon.

My question to you now is:
Could you please advise me on whether and how I need to calibrate the new or used actuator motor afterwards? There are options like "Service position" and "Learn basic settings" under the "Basic settings."

Should I enable the service mode before disassembly, if possible?
And after installation, is it simply a matter of pairing it?

Thank you in advance!

Here's a brief background: The heating actuator in question tends to get stuck in the "Heating" position repeatedly. This is particularly unpleasant in the summer! icon_wink.gif

Sure, it probably makes accessing the screws, etc., a little easier. But it will definitely work without it; since the engine is completely dead, it has to work.

Otherwise: Replace the actuator motor and then perform a basic adjustment.

Sure, it probably makes accessing the screws, etc., a little easier. But it will probably work even without it; if the engine is completely dead, it should work anyway.

Otherwise: Replace the actuator motor and then perform a basic adjustment.

Thank you very much!

I recently had the same problem with my Audi. In that case, simply lubricating the gears was enough to get the actuator motor working again.

It's possible that you don't need a replacement either. I would check that first before buying a new engine.
