My Passat Variant B6 is equipped with a multifunction steering wheel (see photo: Steering wheel Passat B6 2009.jpeg), which likely uses the DDP protocol. To use the user profile dialogue from the UH-V Premium, I need a steering wheel that uses the BAP protocol (see
/viewtopic.php?t=30593).
A multifunction steering wheel from the Passat B7 with 12 buttons should be compatible with my Passat B6 variant. I hope that, despite the two buttons on the back, the 12-button steering wheel is still present (I mean functionally, see Photo: Lenkrad Passat B7.jpg).
The connector for the steering wheel buttons on the B7 steering wheel is not compatible with the socket on the airbag module (see image: Stecker Lenkrad B7.jpg).
Stecker and connector for the steering wheel buttons are 5-pole, and 4 poles are occupied.
The locking mechanism on the airbag module connector can be reversibly removed (see photo: Airbag module connector.jpg). After that, there is
a way to reconnect it, where the free pins are mirrored opposite each other. Only 3 poles are connected. [/url]
Also, does the airbag module also need to be replaced, and will the connector on the steering column still fit?
Wouldn't it be enough to simply re-label the cables of the connector on the steering wheel of the B7?
Can anyone provide me with the connector pinouts for the steering wheel airbag module (Passat B6 2009) and the steering wheel of the Passat B7?
