I've been reading this forum for a while now, and I've reached a point where I'm stuck. I bought an Audi A6 Allroad with a faulty fuel pump. The Audi has a 2.5 TDI engine with the engine code BAU, manufactured in December 2004. I bought a new VP 44 fuel pump from Bosch and installed it. After that, the car wouldn't start because the immobilizer was active. To save myself some trouble, I sent the engine control unit (ECU) to a programmer, who deactivated the immobilizer and the pump lock. At that time, I thought I could bypass the immobilizer because I wouldn't have the immobilizer login code anymore. Today, I installed the ECU, and the car started right up. However, I'm getting a lot of error messages, and it feels like all the other control units remain deactivated even with the engine running. For example, the Airmatic system isn't working at all. Unfortunately, I currently only have a basic diagnostic tool, and the following error messages are displayed in the engine control unit's memory:
- Databus error in the powertrain.
- Engine control unit locked.
- Powertrain: No communication from the steering column module.
I have already contacted the programmer, and he tested my data on a control unit and could not find any problems.
My question is, does the new pump definitely need to be coded? Are there any people here who can help me, for example, with reading the WFS log and configuring the pump? I would also like to buy VCDS. The Audi was working perfectly fine before. Thank you for your help.
