I don't want to suggest that you've done anything wrong. I'm just surprised that a value is appearing for cylinder 3 (the one with the NHG). I would have expected a value for cylinder 2. Perhaps someone else with more experience with the V6 TDI can offer some insight.
Unfortunately, your last photo appears as black to me.

Sorry, I took another look under the hood today, and the cable from the needle lift valve goes into the valve cover on cylinder 3.

I can't find any information online about which cylinder this is supposed to be.
But why does VCDS display values for all cylinders except cylinder number 2?

We also agree that the injector with the NHG sensor is located on cylinder 3.
On VP TDI engines, the idle speed correction values are specified with reference to a particular injector. No correction value is then output for that specific injector. I've observed this on four-cylinder engines, specifically referencing cylinder 3, which also corresponds to the injector with the NHG code.
Bei den Sechszylindern wird aus welchem Grund auch immer Bezug auf Zylinder 2 genommen, das finde ich wiederholt so. Miracles...
In your case, the MSG (Motor Steuergerät - Engine Control Unit) is significantly reducing the injection amount for cylinder 3 in order to achieve even running, meaning that much more fuel is being injected than it should be. It seems like the injector itself might need to be replaced. Someone here with experience with older V6 TDI engines might know more.
You don't mention the engine temperature; for this test, the engine should ideally be at its operating temperature.
Could you perhaps upload another photo of the measurements here, preferably in a different format? The photo above appears black to me.

Thank you very much for the detailed feedback!

I let the engine run until it reached its operating temperature before taking measurements.

The data provided in the text corresponds to the Screenshot from the VCDS test.

Unfortunately, I no longer have it and cannot set it up.

The fuel injector for that cylinder is likely the problem; it's the one with the needle lift actuator. I'll try to get a new or refurbished one.

I purchased an injector nozzle with a needle lift adjuster from a recycler.

Just need to swap them out now...


I'm curious to see if it makes a difference.
