Golf IV instrument cluster, year 2001, engine code AJM, with Multifunction Display (MFA).
I connected the instrument cluster to a power source outside the vehicle to test it (due to the failure of all the indicator gauges), and then I read the error codes.

00779 - Outdoor temperature sensor (G17) 30-10 - Open circuit / Short circuit after positive voltage - Open circuit.
01128 - Immobilizer reading coil (D2) 35-10 - - - Interrupted.
01176 - Key 07-10 - Signal too low - Interrupted.
01314 - Engine Control Unit (ECU) - 49-10 - No communication - Interrupted.
01316 - Brake control unit - 49-10 - No communication - Interrupted.
01321 - Airbag Control Unit (J234) - 49-10 - No communication - Interrupted.

I also have 4 errors stored in control unit 19 (Gateway).

I can't delete it (using VAG-COM 310.2 full version).

- Please clear the error memory of the other control units.
- Disconnect the battery for a while.
- Please put all the fuses in and out.

Of course, I can't promise that this will solve your problem.
But sometimes, I've managed to 'fix' errors in that way.

Well, that sounds really strange. Your AI seems quite disturbed. Disconnecting the battery might help, but I wouldn't mess with the fuses. It won't do any more than disconnecting the battery.
Okay, what exactly is wrong with your car? Are all the gauges not working? It seems the errors are initially only affecting the MFA (Multi-Function Display). Does the car still start? I'm asking because of the issue with the key.

Disconnecting the battery might potentially do something, but I would avoid messing with the fuses. It won't achieve more than disconnecting the battery.

Sometimes it can be useful.

I can't really explain why, but it worked.

Thank you for your advice.

It actually worked when I disconnected the battery.
