Problems with the air conditioner

Hello.

The air conditioning system (Climatronic) in my Audi A4, manufactured in 9/1996, is not working; it's not providing any cooling.

VAG COM shows the following errors:

VAG-COM Version: Release 303.1

Control Module Part Number: 8D0 820 043 H
Component and/or Version: A4-KLIMAVOLLAUTOMAT_D65
Software Coding: 00043
Workshop Code: WSC 06335
2 faults found:
01274 - Air Flow Flap Positioning Motor (V71)
41-10 - Blocked or No Voltage - Intermittent.
00602 - Potentiometer on positioning motor for footwell/defroster flap (G114).
37-10 - Defective - Intermittent.



Question: Where are V71 and G114 located, and how are they controlled?
Could these error messages be responsible for the lack of cooling performance?

I've been dealing with this kind of stuff recently, and I assume that your Audi A4 from the year 1996 has the same climate control system as mine.

I had already written a lengthy post http://www.motor-talk.de/t308371/f162/s/thread.html in another forum about the specific error diagnosis. This should help you determine which shutdown condition in channel 52 ultimately caused the compressor failure. The failure of the V71 actuator has nothing to do with a shutdown condition of the compressor; it should still be running and seems to be another defect, but you will definitely see this indicated on the segment displays http://www.meckisfaq.de/antworten/allgemeines/klimacodes/Klimacodes61.htm.
