Why is 0 implausible? You probably don't have any sunlight in the garage. Artificial light doesn't have the same spectrum as sunlight, which is what the sun sensor measures. Therefore, a reading of 0 is quite plausible.

8 bar is also only about 30°C. There's no need for a fan to start running frantically at that temperature.
What are the target and actual currents flowing to the swashplate, and what information do the bits provide regarding the shutdown condition after you have turned the temperature setting to LO while the engine is running?
