If it's an Audi 80 TDI, it definitely has one. However, it's not visible from the outside or in the engine compartment. It's located in front of the right front wheel, underneath the crossmember in the engine compartment! It's not positioned in the center at the front, like in the S2 or RS2.

The intercooler (IC) on the Audi 80 TDI 1Z is located behind the bumper. The right air intake leads to the intercooler. If you remove the lower engine cover, you can see the intercooler from the rear.
