Hello, dear Rußer enthusiasts,

'I'm having the following problem: I've been driving a Golf 3 GTI TDI with the AFN 110hp engine + a tuning box (which was already installed when I bought it) for almost a year. Today, out of curiosity, I disconnected the box to see if there was a noticeable difference in performance. After reconnecting the connectors, the injection wasn't working as it should. Sometimes the car felt faster and made a lot of noise, while other times it experienced sudden engine braking as if it were about to stall. After disconnecting and reconnecting the box again, the engine wouldn't start. Now, with the tuning box disconnected, I'm only getting the original 110hp (I would like to have the performance boost again).'
Can someone please tell me if this problem might be...?
-is located at the connector, or
-at the tuning box (defective?) or...
-Does the injection system need to be readjusted after removing and reinstalling the control unit?

Thank you in advance.
Best regards,
VR6.

So, there's nothing that needs to be newly hired.
But I doubt anyone here will be able to answer questions 1 and 2.
I'm leaning towards the connector being the issue.

Hello,

It seems the problem was actually with the connection.
Thanks for the tip. Without 'dieselschrauber,' I would have ended up at VW AG and they would have charged me a lot of money!

Really cool... I'm very happy with the performance increase icon_biggrin.gif.

It probably was the connector connection after all.

I wouldn't just let that happen.
Imagine that the potentially unstable component fails again just as you're overtaking a truck on a country road, and oncoming traffic is approaching at an uncomfortable speed icon_evil.gif.

Do you want to end up as just another statistic about illegal lane changes, potentially along with other innocent people?
