How does this test work?
Press down on the lever and observe the rebound.
-> Forget it. Simply because you never activate just one wheel's suspension.
Even if you completely remove one damper, the oscillation will be dampened by the other dampers that are also affected.
Only when
both front or rear (almost) completely fail will you notice a significantly prolonged oscillation.
More specifically, these are shock absorber tests using single-wheel shakers, such as those performed by organizations like ADAC or TÜV.
I can definitely imagine that one of your mufflers is finished.
After a few thousand kilometers, you may (sometimes) see a wear pattern resembling a crown cap distributed on the affected part. Tires.
