Hi everyone, my Passat TDI 90 PS, manufactured in 1996, is having problems. Suddenly, the power is missing, but after turning the engine off for a short time, everything works normally again. This problem has been occurring more frequently for a few days, and on my trip to the store, I had to turn the engine off three times.
Can you give me a TIP?
P.S. Fill up with a lot of biodiesel.
Mileage 110Tkm, not modified, needs to be serviced again (unfortunately always so expensive), engine identification number?? don't know where to find it??

Hallo,

was für einen Motorkennbuchstabe hast Du denn? Wieviele Kilometer hat denn das Auto schon runter? Ist es getunt? Ist der Dieselfilter frei (vergleiche auch diverse Postings im Forum)?

Wenn nach einem Neustart das Problem erst mal weg ist, deutet dies auf das Notlaufprogramm hin.
Wie immer in diesen Fällen (siehe viele Postings hier im Forum) den Fehlerspeicher auslesen lassen und das Ergebnis hier posten.

[Translating...]Klingt ganz nach defektem Luftmassenmesser (LMM).

Einfach mal ausbauen und mit Bremsenreiniger reinigen oder ganz ersetzen.

bevor mit dem Auswechseln von Teilen auf Verdacht begonnen wird, würde ich erst mal raten eine Meßfahrt durchzuführen.

Thank you, icon_biggrin.gif, I found the solution after following your advice and have now checked all the hoses, and the culprit is:
http://people.freenet.de/lehm/Schlauch.JPG This small, unassuming black object, the purpose of which is unknown, is likely related to the LLK (I don't know what this is). It has broken apart, so I simply cut it a little and then re-confirmed icon_wink.gif
Now everything is working as it should!!

[Translating...]hi , so hat es bei meiner Freundin ( AFN-Motor) auch angefangen..., während der Fahrt plötzlich keine Leistung mehr. Motor aus und wieder an und schon ging´s wieder. Nach etwa 7 !!! Werkstatt besuchen wo so ziemlich alles Teile (LEIHWEISE, find ich kann man hoch der Werkstatt anrechnen) ausgetauscht wurden (LMM, Ladedruckventil usw) war´s dann letztendlich der Turbo wo im Arsch war !!! Schöne Scheisse weil das ca 2 Wochen nach kauf des gebrauchten auftrat und der Turbo nicht von VW in der Gebrauchtwagen garantie mit drin ist !!! Hab ich denen a weng Dampf gemacht, jetzt hat VW, die Werkstatt und wir je ein Drittel gezahlt..., fand ich echt gut.

I strongly doubt this, based on my own experience.

In my 1997 AFN, there was a simple defect: the membrane housing was too small, and after a certain amount of dust buildup in the loader, the mechanism could no longer adjust properly.

Newer TDIs have a larger = stronger canister, which solves the problem.
But VAG is not able to simply install the larger container in case of complaints (which is completely straightforward).

Instead, the customer is sold a new charger - preferably one with a small battery, so that it can be "recharged" again after a few hundred kilometers, etc.
