Hello.

I am a new member of this forum and would like to ask how to adjust the fuel injection point of the pump. I think it is a VP37 pump. I discovered using the VAG-COM that the fuel injection timing was set too early (below the red line).

Many thanks and apologies for the poor German language...

Best regards,

Where can I find a diagram showing the relationship between injection timing, engine speed, and load? I have a TDI engine, 1Z, 66kW, manufactured in 1994, with a mileage of 220,000 km.
The dynamic setting (Channel 00, start of spraying) is within the acceptable range, but on the lower end.

But if I see the injection point 0 or 1 in the idle (display group number 004: Injection start) or at 2000 rpm, shouldn't it be different? Approximately 10 degrees before OT?

Where can I find the correct values for 1Z? I tested it in a friendly workshop with a VAS device. However, there was no documentation for such old engines in the workshop.

As long as it starts reliably and performance + consumption are in line -> never change a running system icon_wink.gif

is already clear. However, the engine has started to jerk (soft jerk). I wanted to start by checking the values that are easiest to control.
I received a manual for the commissioning of the AFD TDI Industrial Engine - it's the same engine block, the same fuel pump, and the control unit is almost the same (028 906 021JL against 028 906 021B), perhaps the turbo is different (VTG against Wastegate). For the injection point at idle, the AFD specifies a range of 6 to 13 v.OT - however, my measurements show a range of 0 to 2 v.OT.
Is there also such documentation (commissioning) for 1Z? What is in the Erwin (siehe Fehlerdatenbank) documentation? Are the setting values included? Is it worth buying? I have the book by Etzold and also the other 'Now I help myself' book, and both contain very little information.
I believe my rough idling issue is caused by the fuel system, but before I open the fuel injection pump, I want to check everything else.

Your AFN is also listed in this forum table!

http://www.dieselschrauber.de/Solldaten_4_Zylinder_VE.html

You can find all the required values from the table.
And don't confuse idle time with full load...

Best regards, Georg
