"You seem to be having some real trouble there. What's the problem with the dipstick method? In the manual, for almost every 1.9 TDI/SDI, there's definitely a sentence stating that it should be about 4.5 liters. And that's always in the separate booklet with the technical data. But no offense, you should be able to find that information, and if not, it shouldn't be too difficult to figure out. Just pour in exactly 4.5 liters, start your car, let it run, and if almost all of it hasn't drained out, you'll have a good amount too much in there. That's not good. Do it like this: pour in four liters, let it run briefly so that oil also reaches the filter, turn it off, wait 3 minutes, and then use the dipstick to check the level and fill it up to the maximum mark.
You unscrew the bleed screw beforehand and then screw it back in without changing anything. It's not that difficult.
But be careful, oil will come out when you unscrew them. icon_eek.gif
I always reuse the gaskets. Afterwards, don't overtighten the screw, as you could otherwise damage the oil pan.

Specifically, it's always in the separate booklet containing the technical specifications.

No, that doesn't exist at Seat. There's a manual, and it contains all the information. You can even see it by quickly glancing at the temperature range diagrams.

Since this seems to be your first oil change, here's another tip: If you drive the car for a while beforehand to warm it up, the oil will be thinner and flow out much better and faster. Just be careful when you remove the drain plug not to get the hot stuff on your fingers.

Best regards,

Jan.

Hi,

It's starting to get a bit off track now... Even Seat includes a table of contents in its manual.
If people are already guessing which is the oil drain plug... well, I don't know.

My tip: Watch your buddy while he changes the oil. And, what the others in the rental workshop are doing wrong icon_smile.gif. You don't have to repeat their mistakes.

I'm going to close this topic now; I think everything necessary has been said.

Best regards, Rainer.
