Hello TDI community,
I have the C4 mentioned above, and I have the following question(s).
- Is the clutch operated via the pedal, using a cable or a hydraulic system?
- My problem is the following: Since yesterday, I've only been experiencing the usual resistance in the last third of the pedal travel (when I press the clutch pedal). This happened suddenly, from one day to the next. The clutch isn't slipping. The car has approximately 100,000 km (or about 62,000 miles).
Could it be that the clutch cable is frayed or damaged?
Has anyone else experienced the same problem?
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Michael.

AFAIK, all TDI models have hydraulic clutches. Your problem might be due to insufficient hydraulic fluid or air in the system. Check if there's enough brake fluid, as the clutch hydraulics use the same reservoir.

Hello Jan,
Thank you.
Best regards,
