Oil Sources and Quality Standards

Hello everyone!

How many of you have been frustrated by the extremely overpriced motor oil prices at gas stations, hardware stores, or other local retail chains?

Now, I've been searching online for larger sizes/bulk quantities, hoping to find good quality products at significantly better prices.
However, I am also somewhat skeptical, as even with low offering prices, it is possible to maximize profit margins by selling the oil under a false label.

Perhaps someone among you is familiar with the sources mentioned below and knows whether they sell products of good quality or not.

Formulations like "meets Level according to VW standard 50500" make me a little suspicious, because normally the wording "meets" or even "meets and exceeds" is more common.

What do you think about it?
Do you know of any other affordable suppliers for bulk purchases of approximately 15-30 liters of high-quality motor oil?

I buy my PD-oil, which meets the VW standard 506.01 (Agip 7007), from an eBay seller named: oeli666.

I've only had the best experiences with the seller (and they are neither related nor in-laws ).

'PD oil for 6.50 per liter from Agip - can't complain about that. And if you order 12 or more, the shipping costs aren't so bad.'

'The links you provided show some strange (and unfamiliar to me) oil companies – I wouldn't buy from them. I'd rather choose more reputable companies like Shell, Agip, or Aral.'

I actually always write an email to sellers on eBay and in mail-order businesses beforehand to see how quickly/friendly they respond, and from that, you can learn a lot about the potential future business.

Yeah, I think so. I always get PD oil there for a friend, it's 18 euros for 5 liters. And for our car, it's 0W-40 for 20 euros for 5 liters.

I've been using Pentosynth 5W40 (502.00 / 505.00) for years. You can find it at places like Walmart for about €18.50 per 5 liters - if you don't happen to live near the port of Würzburg.
Pentosin isn't a major brand in the oil market, but they supply products like brake fluids to companies like VW, so they're not an unknown brand. However, this oil is not suitable for PD (Pumpe Düse) engines.
