Hello everyone!
Last week, I replaced the windshield wiper motor on my Golf 4, because the wiper arm was again sticking
After the initial function test, I was quite surprised by the wiping behavior of the motor. In the "wipe-wash" mode, i.e., when a good amount of water is supplied via a pump, the motor behaves as expected. D.h. er moves continuously from one end to the other (180°).
However, I was surprised when I tried the intermittent operation, because now the wiper arm makes 2 pauses of approximately 60° during the first wiping cycle, and only one pause in the middle position during each subsequent intermittent wiping cycle.
Apparently, the wiper motor comes from a 2002 Passat Kombi. Can anyone here on the forum confirm this unusual swiping behavior, or is it actually a defect?
As far as I know, from both the Golf and the A3, I'm only familiar with rear wipers that continuously wipe, meaning they always wipe 180 degrees without stopping.
Thank you for your feedback.
Greetings
Alex
