Hi!
After I had removed everything I could from the engine compartment of my Passat (TDI-1Z, 174,000 km), I noticed the following during the removal of the ESP:
"My driveshaft has 1mm of axial play (the wear limit is 0.3!!), which means the pump starts drawing in air after a few hours (white smoke after longer periods of inactivity). I'm now sending the part to Henzo at fatty-fuels.de to have the shaft re-bushed. Henzo says that the excessive play will eventually cause internal components of the ESP, such as the housing, to touch and create debris! Also, the timing belt will then rub against the edge of the intermediate gear."
or a tensioner and will eventually be destroyed!!!! So, please check this part periodically during operation!!!!!! By the way, the crankshaft pulley is not a problem for me-> I have the 12.9 grade bolts installed

.
I'll report back on how it works after the installation!
Best regards, Christian.
