I tried that once myself. It didn't do anything at all! It's a real shame about the money.
A few months later, I added new transmission fluid, but without using any of those "miracle" additives (like Castrol TAF-X), and that really made a difference.

I have the feeling that this only benefits the manufacturer. Just like oil flushes - I've never seen any deposits or sludge in my engine.
