Hi everyone,

I retrofitted original electric windows and mirrors to my Golf IV. I've wired everything up (including the control module). Unfortunately, I no longer get the reminder chime when I turn on the lights (my battery has already been drained twice). Does anyone know which device is responsible for this chime and where the speaker is located?

Regards,
Benjamin.

In the Golf IV, the buzzer is located on the back of the instrument cluster.

Hello,

'However, the sound for the light reminder is a different tone than the error tone from the instrument cluster, for example, when there's an airbag fault. Is it still the same sound, but just triggered with a different frequency?'

If that's the case, then my instrument cluster probably isn't receiving the signal from the comfort control unit that the driver's door is open.

Regards,
Benjamin.

Hi benmen,

The information is coming from the door lock, via the door control module, and then through the CAN bus, so an error there is unlikely. The problem probably lies in the connection between the central control module and the instrument cluster. You had to rearrange all the pins, so perhaps an error was introduced.
For the turbo connection, use the Comfort-SG PIN T23/8 (formerly at the old HVAC-SG T24/7). Connect the brown-yellow cable to the combination unit (blue connector) T32/21.
I experienced something similar. At some point, I probably stopped recognizing colors, and the tailgate lock stopped working. I spent days searching until I realized I had simply connected the wrong cable.

It's unbelievable that other people would do something like that... it was a huge amount of work, especially if you want to have everything original icon_cool.gif.
