First, let me explain the background to my problem:

Recently, the timing belt broke on my Golf TDI (81 kW, engine code: AFN, chip tuned to 140 hp).
The damage, however, was limited; it was 'only' two valves that were bent.
We replaced them and reassembled the cylinder head.
Of course, a new timing belt as well.

The engine started right up and ran smoothly after a few minutes.
back to normal, standing still.

During the subsequent test drive, however, I noticed that under full load...
A grinding noise from the turbocharger. And after a few kilometers...
There was also no more turbo lag, which was noticeable in the performance.
Following that, I replaced the hose from the solenoid valve to the vacuum actuator on the turbocharger, and then it started working again.
but always in bursts, and then not at all after a while.
After a few kilometers, there was also a significant amount of smoke, and the loader was completely dead. After removing the loader, it was possible to see that the shaft of the loader was broken in the middle.

Following that, I installed a replacement loader, but it exhibited the same symptoms: initially, it would slip, then occasionally work, and then fail again.
Ultimately, it broke again!

What could be the reason for that?

I can see that you guys don't really like helping newcomers in your group!
But maybe someone will come along and offer me some good advice.

I'd really like to go for a ride with my car again!

Regards,

Cermit.

Hello,

Aren't you asking a bit too much for 3 hours of waiting?
Unfortunately, it takes some time to be able to make a well-informed statement.
Tschüss

Hi!

If you haven't been helped yet, it's probably because your post isn't very old. I would suspect a problem with the oil supply.
Hopefully, you added some oil to the auxiliary power unit before connecting the oil line. If you didn't, you'll have to wait for some time after starting it, without even touching the accelerator, until the power unit is properly lubricated with oil.
Otherwise, you might have introduced so much debris (wood chips) into your oil system that it could clog a line or even block the turbocharger bearing itself.
Best regards,
Ernst.

Yes, you are right, I was a bit impatient. Sorry!

Yes, I did that with the oil, but what I don't understand is...
'After replacing the hose from the solenoid valve to the vacuum actuator, the loader worked briefly, but then stopped working again after a few kilometers! Could it be that my solenoid valve is malfunctioning?'

The oil drain line of the charger is clear; I removed it.
I'm going to take a look at the oil supply now.

But still.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Cermit.
