hello arne...

How often should I change the oil in the Haldex clutch on my 4m vehicle? Just to be clear, we're talking about the clutch located at the rear axle. Is this clutch prone to failure?

Best regards,

Okay, I'll stick to my point:

The V6 engine in the Passat is mounted longitudinally, just like in the A6, for example. Therefore, it doesn't have a Haldex coupling; instead, it uses a Torsen differential.

In the Passat, the V6 engine is installed longitudinally, just like in the A6, for example... so there's no Haldex coupling... -> Torsen differential.

You're hitting the nail on the head; that thing doesn't even have a Haldex clutch (because it's longitudinally mounted).
And even if it did have one, the oil service interval wouldn't be particularly problematic.

Greetings.
Matthias.

hmm good icon_smile.gif

I was almost starting to worry... As far as I know, the owner's manual states that the filters should be changed every 100,000 km.

I don't know what happened to the oil...

Best regards,

Hi,

That's correct. The Passat has a Torsen all-wheel drive system with the 6-cylinder engine, and a Haldex system with the 4-cylinder engine.

'Troubleshooter is right; it's not tragic. I myself only changed the oil every 50,000 km and the filters every 100,000 km, even though Audi recommends something different.'

Regards,
Arne.
