Headlights Vento/Golf III: Common Problems

Unfortunately, I had a mishap today while changing the headlight bulb. When I pushed the housing back into the reflector, the reflector detached from the plastic rod of the headlight leveling system. I haven't been able to reattach the rod to the reflector, despite trying various methods. Perhaps someone has experience with the headlights of a Golf III or Vento and can offer advice on how to reattach the rod to the reflector.

Do I need to remove the headlight assembly for this? Or the motor of the headlight leveling system? I would be very grateful for any advice, as I am a student, and a repair from a specialized workshop would likely be very time-consuming.

I can't tell you if you can manage without removing it, as I had already removed it back then (I upgraded to a dual-SW system).

Expanding it is definitely not a problem. The grill is just clipped on, so you need to use a flathead screwdriver to push all the clips out. Then you can simply pull it off.

The headlight is secured with four screws (size 8 or 10) and can then be easily removed.

Expandable for experienced users in under 10 minutes.
