Bora Speaker Grille: Replacement & Protection

Hello. I wanted to check today if I already have the wiring in place for the rear speakers in my rear doors, and I'm really frustrated. How do you remove the speaker covers on a Bora or Golf 4? I found the Torx screws at the bottom, but it can't be that I have to remove the entire door panel, right?

Unfortunately, that's exactly how it is. Usually, there are no cables on the back; you can tell by looking at the ISO connector if you ever take the radio out.
If only the middle four (two at the top, two at the bottom) are occupied, then there are no cables at the rear. So, if you want to install additional lights, you will need to remove the door panel and, with 99% certainty, run cables.
What kind of radio comes standard with it? If it's the alpha or beta model, then the wiring definitely isn't routed to the rear!
