Hi everyone, I previously posted about my engine misfiring as if it wasn't properly connected. I've found the problem. Piston number 4 is completely broken. My engine has 168,000 km (approximately 104,000 miles) on it, and it was chipped to 145 hp (approximately 143 hp) at 100,000 km (approximately 62,000 miles), and then to around 170 hp (approximately 167 hp) at 160,000 km (approximately 99,000 miles) with 216 injectors and a VNT17 turbo. Could this have led to the crack, or is it due to material weakness?
Furthermore, everything needs to be brought back to a satisfactory state. Workshop and VW mechanics available!
What would you do in this situation to resolve the issue reasonably and cost-effectively? I'm considering buying a complete engine and selling the broken one, or should I have the block rebuilt?
