What is this part called?

Charge air pipe, pressure pipe, connecting pipe - the latter term is used by VW for the part with the number 028 145 840A.

It must be around the year 1992-1994, and it still has the pump with the potentiometer sensor.

Intake manifold?! It's also called intake manifold pressure...

"Connecting pipe" is also what Audi calls it... and it's available for a reasonable 80 euros. And since you can hardly find this part at any junkyard, I guess I'll have to pay for it.

For 80 EUR, I would first buy "UHU Stabelit Ultra" or "endfest 300" (or whatever it's called) and fiberglass fleece, and apply it with adhesive. It's fun and saves money.

The adhesive only hardens completely when exposed to heat.

Or you could recreate it using stainless steel pipes, exhaust pipes, along with welding equipment and a cutting tool... that way, it will at least last a long time.
