Hello.
Why is the Golf VI named "1K" like the previous generation?
Does anyone happen to know? MfG. Michael

Look at him.
Take a look at the 6-series Gran Coupe in particular.
It's all just a facelift. Transparency, Teamwork

Why does he call it the Golf VI? That actually implies that it's a new model. MfG. Michael

What all sorts of things aren't being advertised to the end consumer as "new."
"New" to me simply means that Volkswagen is now joining in with this principle.
As I said, it still works for "regular" golf.
The Golf 6 Plus still has the older style mirrors.
The car being modified is a Volkswagen Golf 6 Variant, and each Vortex exterior package changes the appearance in various ways.

It also seemed a bit strange to me.
"So far, with each generation of the Golf, Polo, and Passat, it has been possible to identify clear differences, whether in the bodywork, chassis, or technology."
Lately, the entire system has been working more smoothly, or even perfectly, (regarding the suspension).
I still see the 6th generation Golf as just a facelift; the product cycle was also significantly shorter than usual. Audi A5 B8 Cabrio 2.0 TFSI/CNCD 225PS

Please calculate this for me.
Volkswagen Golf III: 1992-1997.
Golf IV: 1997-2003
Golf V: 2003-2009
Okay, I find that the production years are roughly the same for the Golf IV and V. MfG. Michael

I assume that a Golf will ALWAYS be a Type 1.
And if, for that purpose, the German alphabet needs to be extended after the letter "Z" .

...and I thought that with the Golf V, there would have been significant improvements to the chassis compared to the Golf IV, at the platform level.
Regarding certain interior components, the VI has seen a significant upgrade in quality.

Regarding a few component qualities, such as interior parts, the VI has been significantly upgraded. |
The suspension improvements from the Golf 4 to the 5/6 are very noticeable. I had the Golf 4 with a sport suspension on 16" wheels, and the 5 is now equipped with a sport suspension on 18" wheels. The 5 is noticeably more comfortable despite the larger wheels, but still much more precise to drive. Even though it may sound contradictory: it's less harsh, but still firmer. It actively supports you when steering. It doesn't sway like the 4, and the unpredictable "oversteer" of the rear axle in curves, which was already present with minor bumps, is gone. Finally, there are splash guards on the brakes to protect against moisture. The feeling of "brake failure," which I felt was a common hazard, especially on salty, wet roads, was no longer present in the 5.
Regarding the interior improvements, I disagree. The changes from the 5 Series to the 6 Series are actually quite minimal. To be precise, only the color was changed, and some chrome accents are new (in addition to the design, of course).
The feel of the materials is the same. The upper part features a soft-touch finish on a soft surface, while the lower part is made of hard plastic, sometimes also with a soft-touch finish. The quality of the materials was noticeably improved in the Golf 5 after about 1 or 2 years. Initially, there was practically gray hard plastic everywhere. Golf 7 GTI

Does the 5 series perhaps have a brake disc wiper like the 3C?
Since they otherwise have a lot in common, it would also be possible to include an "if" statement in the ABS/ESP system.

But, considering the effort Volkswagen put into the suspension, it simply doesn't deliver enough performance.

The sports suspension in the 5 Series is good.
The standard suspension, on the other hand, is less suitable. I find it too soft and lacking in feedback.

It doesn't sway like the 4th generation model, and the unpredictable "torque steer" of the rear axle in corners, which was noticeable even on minor bumps, is gone.

"Versetzen" is a characteristic of the HA composite link arms from the very beginning. VW consistently adopted this feature from the G1 .
Dafür fängt der neue das Wedeln an wenn die HA beim Bremsen entlastet wird .... Tolles Gefühl. Und das bei der Konstruktion. Genau das sollte die neue HA doch vermeiden ..... FaHello!
However, with the sports suspension, this is hardly noticeable at all. Gruß Bertil
