Wind Deflectors: ClimAir - Best Quality

Hi,

Since I'll be driving 800 km next week (with likely continued 'summery' temperatures),...
I'm considering whether I can bring my children with me (without worrying about the climate).
Installing wind deflectors.
Does anyone have any experience with those things?
Could they contribute to an improvement in the overall travel experience, including the emotional one?

Hi Rudi,

While I don't have any experience with diesel "wings," I do have a sunroof.

If I set it to "high," it's not really much louder on the highway than the truck already is, and the extra airflow makes a difference.
Last Friday, it was "only" 2-3 degrees above the outside temperature, meaning "only" about 37 degrees inside.

With SD cards, you still have the advantage that...
1. not directly on the ear.
2. with a canopy that provides acoustic but not aerodynamic damping.


Regarding the topic of "children," I would also like to point out that young children are often more sensitive to drafts than adults.

Hi Rudi,

My mother has something similar on her Mitsubishi Pajero Pinin.
With the windows slightly open, they provide a pleasantly quiet, yet quite effective, ventilation for the car.
If the deflectors are not installed lower than the bottom edge of the wipers, then you don't need to close them even in the rain, and yet no water will get into the car.

They look particularly "uncool" from the front, increase the frontal area, and therefore increase consumption (and reduce the maximum speed).
I can't say for sure whether it's possible to remove them again without causing (hidden) paint scratches – which could later lead to rust spots.

In addition, it's a bit stiff, which can cause the fuse to blow and make the engine smell bad .
My level of frustration regarding repairs is, however, extremely low .

It can't possibly look that modest .
The parts should be removable without causing any damage, although... I don't think there's any rust in that area.
significantly shortens the lifespan of the car.
