My ALH actually warms up slower when the EGR is defective. The amount of exhaust gas at partial load is not insignificant, and a considerable amount of heat is apparently dissipated through the exhaust cooler. And, of course, it runs with more knocking when the EGR is faulty. If you set the exhaust gas ratio to maximum via adaptation, it suddenly runs very smoothly .

Okay, so this only works if the EGR system is active.

In adaptation channel 3, you can adjust the ratio of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR). Setting it to maximum increases the amount of recirculated exhaust gas, which significantly raises the temperature level at idle. This can make even a TDI engine run smoothly, almost like an old-fashioned diesel.
