Hi!
I have a VDO 1J5 920 826 C - IMMO III. It has a defective LCD display on the onboard computer, and the fuel gauge is malfunctioning even though the fuel sensor is working correctly.

I received a "new" kidney through an online auction, and it has the same model number.

The new tachograph unit has 0 kilometers and a 4-digit login code.

Is this enough to change the speedometer, or do I also need the 4 or 7-digit login codes from my current installed infotainment system to make the change? (Can I obtain these from my VW workshop?)
Do I still need the vehicle identification number (VIN) from the new AI system?

I read the procedure for Ki with IMMO 3 on the Ross Tech website, but I don't fully understand it.

My friend has the original Hex-Can USB interface with an integrated license.

Greetings from Slovenia!

If the Tcho is not in the new mode, you also need the login from the currently installed AI. That would be the simplest way. If the Tacho is in the new mode, the Tacho will take the data from the engine control unit during the learning process. icon_wink.gif

So, if the odometer reads 0 km, does that mean it's in a new mode?
Can someone please post a more detailed explanation of this procedure here?
I want to be 100% certain because I can't afford to make any mistakes in the process.

Hi,

The 0 KM reading has nothing to do with the 'New Mode' setting. 'New Mode' refers to the factory default settings. It is possible to read the data after connecting the speedometer.

The new AI is in a new mode when: Select 'STG' -> 'Tacho', then 'Measurement Groups' -> 'Function 08' -> 'Group 022', and the value '4' is set to '4'.

Is there a 6? icon_wink.gif No new mode.
