Hi,

Please let me know briefly, including the engine power, circuit type, and body style.

I'm looking for someone who has an Allroad with a BAU engine, automatic transmission, and a chip tune.

210 horsepower.
420 Nm.

It runs smoothly. There's not much more that can be recommended for this vehicle.

Regards,
Matthias.

Hello,

There are several V6 TDI models in my family and among my acquaintances.
These engines all have a VP44 injection pump, which itself has a control unit that limits the amount of fuel injected and the injection timing. As far as I know, the amount is limited to approximately 44 or 45 mg per injection. In other words, the actual power output is likely no higher than 190-195 horsepower. Every tuner claims more, but that's simply not possible.

However, in the early days, some of the first 150hp V6 TDI engines didn't have this limitation. It seems that every engine in the Allroad has this restriction.

I'm wondering how to identify these pumps. Is there a way to bypass this limitation, so the motor can actually perform better, or is it just another case of misleading marketing?

Have you already achieved higher performance? What happened? Why is it no longer recommended?

Best regards,
Thomas.

With the Allroad, it seems that every engine has this limitation.

For the Allroad with STG number 4Z7907401A and SW number 354376, there is definitely no speed limiter present, as we have measured some of them on the test bench with 225 horsepower. However, the 2.5 TDI engines should not be considered 'good candidates for tuning.'

I would be very worried about the SW number... are you sure about that?

Yes, why?

I can hardly imagine that; in the past 10 years, I haven't encountered a single VAG data point that exceeded the four-digit range!

I can hardly imagine that, I haven't experienced any data volume at VAG in the past 10 years that has exceeded the four-digit range!

Uh, sorry.
What is the chip number?

I once read somewhere in a document about 25 kW per cylinder, which would be 204 horsepower.
However, the text did not specify how this limit is determined.

That's precisely the performance that *** specifies after the chip tuning process.

Hello,

Is it possible that the limitations are different?
That means one is limited at 192, another at 204, and yet another at 225?
Are there any experiences available regarding these engines without speed limitations?

@vagtuning

You are right icon_lol.gif.
But honestly, subjectively speaking, the car doesn't feel like it has 204 horsepower to me.
(Passat 3B, aftermarket chip) I'd like to have the car tested on a dynamometer sometime and I'm curious to see what the results will be.

not to be classified as a "good tuning project".

How did you come to that conclusion?
Similarly, one can equip this engine with different injectors, a different ATL (or even two icon_twisted.gif), etc.
(Assuming the pump is not limited.)
The question then is, which part will fail first.
Unfortunately, for example, having the camshaft reground is four times more expensive and time-consuming than it is for an 8V-TDI engine. This then raises the question of cost-benefit analysis.
Have you had any experience with things like that? Or why isn't the engine a good candidate for tuning?

Best regards,
Thomas.
