Has anyone tested the cheap Ferodo brake pads with the G60 braking system?
You can find them as a complete set for €35 at webteile24.de.
"The racing version costs €95. Is it worth the extra expense? Are they significantly more durable?"
I wanted to use those Zimmermann brake discs.

Hello!

Think about the question fundamentally!

Plywood and then cheap flooring?

"When it comes to brakes, being cheap is NEVER a good idea!"

hiho

Then replace the brake discs because those are also cheap, low-quality parts.

Okay, so the standard Ferodo brake pads aren't bad. At least, they're not worse than the original VW ones.

'The DS Performance brake pads (the ones with the ABE certification) are great. I've used them for about 40,000 km and they've worn down to about half their original thickness, and the brakes work really well, even when the rotors are very hot.'

If you drive normally and rarely apply the brakes forcefully, the standard brakes will be sufficient.

Okay, I also installed Ferodo pads and rotors in my Lupo...
Subjectively, I felt that the brakes hadn't been working properly for at least 5,000 kilometers.
"Everything is back to normal now... but next time, I'll definitely be looking at the VW parts again... they're not that expensive, especially for a Lupo."

It's quite a sensitive topic... there are a thousand different opinions about it.
"However, a large portion of the opinions, also from other forums, state that Zimmermann windshields are good. And they are not expensive either. At webteile24, they cost only 35€!"

People have very different opinions about the upholstery.
What brake pads have people had good experiences with on Zimmermann rotors?

I've used Ferrodo brake pads and/or rotors on various cars before, and I've generally never had any reason to complain, except maybe now with the stuck and jammed brake pad on the rear axle. However, I don't think it was the pad itself that caused the problem; it worked perfectly for over 40,000 km. It's more likely a problem with the overall design of the rear brake system.

'Up front, I've had slotted Zimmermann brake discs with standard Ferodo brake pads for 25,000 (or maybe even 35,000 *hmm, I'm not sure*) kilometers. They work very well!'

@ cksIT

What kind of brake are we talking about here?

13 x 256
20x256
22 x 280

I've had the smallest one in the heavy-duty variant since 84,000 kilometers, and it's not always fun.

... there was another T.

I don't know what the f*ck it was.

I know, I'm also talking about the large one (the G60 size), which is 22mm by 280mm.

I also have a little one in the car right now... it's really awful when you have to brake hard.
