"Yes, of course, into the air conditioner."

But where does it get screwed on?

I once used a UV light to check the Leon, and I found 2-3 spots that seemed to shimmer suspiciously.

- The connection to the interior is very easy.
- There's a screw in front of it, and it looks like there's some kind of filler material around it.
- There is a "can" on the radiator that is filled with liquid.

UV and flash light images follow.
What is the correct term for "Dose"?

Images attached:

They always come in pairs: "UV only" and "with flash".
The UV images were post-processed with a gamma value of 2.0.

The yellow spots were much more visible to the naked eye.

Thank you for the tips on what to do now.

1) There are some valves there (I'm not a specialist either icon_redface.gif), take a look under the water tank cover.

2) You can check the refrigerant system (I mean under vacuum, I think "evacuate" is the correct term) to see if it's actually leaking, or if it's just old seals. I suspect it's actually losing refrigerant. Then you can check if the leak is at a connection point; in that case, a new O-ring might be enough. However, you should have the air conditioning system evacuated before doing that.

3) I assume you mean the dryer...

He also often loses power at the capacitor; that's what happened with my GIII.

Hello,

Please check the aluminum pipes. The connectors are attached to the pipes and secured with black caps.
Looking at the compressor, the thicker connection is the high-pressure side, and the thinner connection is the low-pressure side.
Nothing is unscrewed there. An empty system is evacuated, and the refrigerant is then introduced into the circuit by the vacuum created and the pressure in the charging cylinder.
However, the cycle is not open!
If the connections are leaking, it's usually because the O-rings are no longer in good condition.
Since the system in my Polo was already empty, I replaced all the O-rings while I was at it. However, if the system is open for an extended period, you need to replace the dryer. The oil in the system also absorbs moisture from the air, so work quickly.
It's not magic, though.
Gruss Oliver.

Hold on, there's a risk of misunderstanding here:

The thin refrigerant line on the compressor is the high-pressure (liquid refrigerant, low volume).
The thick refrigerant pipe on the compressor is the low-pressure line (refrigerant in gaseous form, large volume).

I don't know if the filling tubes are of different thicknesses, but that's not important either.

Hopefully, with the above information, things should be clearer now.

Best regards, Jochen.

That was a known issue with the III series. At least there was a 4-year / 100,000 km full warranty on it. My dealer, of course, didn't tell me that and charged me a lot for refills and leak detection icon_sad.gif icon_sad.gif.

Hello,

I probably didn't express myself clearly. You're right about the pipe diameters. I was only referring to the fill connections. The one with the larger diameter is the high-pressure side, and the smaller one is the low-pressure side.
