Hello everyone,
Upon closer observation of the behavior of my CT devices, they continue to present me with more and more puzzles.
Here's a brief description of the behavior:
If the air distribution is set to "Auto" (meaning no manual adjustment using the buttons), the warm air will be directed exclusively to the foot area.
2. If the distribution is manually set to "male exhaust," the device reverts to the lowest setting.
3. When set manually, air flows *only* from the male nozzles; there is no airflow from the feet.
Error code indicates: 4F9 - Fresh air blower.
However, the fan speed is infinitely adjustable!
If you clear the error, it disappears until you switch to "defrost" mode, at which point it reappears. However, the "defrost" function itself works properly!
Helpless.

"Please obtain a proper diagnostic report from the engine's fault memory, because the basic button diagnostics you performed failed to identify the specific type of error. In addition, it's important to check the conditions under which the system shuts down, and to verify that all relevant components are within their specified operating ranges using the measurement data blocks."

Okay, the VAG-COM device is available now. I'll read the "correct" error memory as soon as possible.
Shutdown conditions? Specifically, those of the compressor?

Correct, although that also includes "global" conditions.

What do you understand by the term "global condition"? *thinking*
The mini-diagnosis on the CT shows 0 in automatic mode and 6 in Eco mode, so everything seems to be fine!

Hello,
I read the error codes yesterday, and the message was:
01273 04F9 Fresh air blower - V2 - Connection interrupted.
I cleared the error and performed an actuator diagnosis. Unfortunately, the error is no longer reproducible.
The CT's peculiar behavior hasn't changed. I've taken another look at the internal sensor, but it's providing plausible values.
Is there a way to "reset" the CT?
Matze.

Since you read the error memory, you must have also saved a diagnostic report, right?

To help you, and especially because the error code you posted makes me a little suspicious. Furthermore, the question about the shutdown conditions was still unanswered...
...otherwise, I'm logging off here. I'm not going to chase after you to help you. If you can't provide the requested information, then you're either in the wrong place or don't actually need help.

Okay, okay. Let's go slowly again, although I think I've already described everything above.
"I copied this error code from the VAG-COM error log; it was the only error found in all the control units."
2. - Shutdown condition for ECON mode = 6 (ECON mode).
- Deactivation condition during defrost mode: 0 (compressor running). Normal mode ("Auto"): 0 (compressor running).
- Yesterday, the "Auto" mode shut off because the temperature was too low ( .
If you need any more information, I'm happy to provide it. However, I think I've answered your questions. If not, then I'm probably too stupid to understand.

Please post a diagnostic report, as it will contain the part number and software version information.
You're rambling and using the keyboard diagnostics, then you say you copied the error from the log - but there wouldn't be a HEX value in that. It doesn't make sense. Besides, on November 21st, you wrote that you had been "hesitant to buy a VAG-COM."
I seriously think you're trying to pull a fast one on me. My impression is that you're trying to sell me the key diagnostics as a value-added service, otherwise it wouldn't be a problem to post the requested protocol. And while you're at it, I'd also like the values from MWB 002, 006, 007, 008, and 009.

Hello,
I booted up the laptop over the weekend, and the logs are here.
/viewtopic.php?t=14299
As I mentioned, the issue with the blower is no longer reproducible. Nevertheless, here are the serial numbers according to the VC (Vehicle Control unit):
Control unit part number: 3B1 907 044 H
Component or version: CLIMATRONIC B5GP 0003
Software Coding: 17000
Workshop Code: WSC 05311
No error code found.

Certainly, some of the effects are due to the normal control strategy of the system and are intentional. At low outside temperatures, the heating air is always directed towards the feet. This is what is known as a "comfortable climate" – a cool head and warm feet. If you then switch to "man mode," the system will also not blow hot air at you, following this principle. The system still aims to achieve maximum comfort. Therefore, I believe that this behavior is also purely intentional. However, when set to "Lo" and "man mode," it will blow full force (cold air). In this case, maximum cooling is the primary goal.
In the third case, I think "manhole inlets before footwell outlets" is the correct approach, considering the channel cross-sections. If you partially close the individual manhole inlets in this configuration, more water will definitely reach the footwell area.
I would say that this CT is behaving quite normally.
The problem with the blower might have been fixed a long time ago, perhaps a fuse blew out at some point?
A log file wouldn't have been necessary here; the error message itself is sufficient. Gruß

Hmm, that sounds logical at first!
However, I have to say that the engineers at VW didn't put much thought into it. It's far from a comfortable environment.
Due to the cold temperatures and the lack of manual intervention in the airflow, it takes a very long time for warm air to reach the upper body. Because absolutely no air comes out of the vents unless you manually adjust them.
"I previously had a Skoda Octavia with climate control, which handled it much better. It always provided a gentle stream of warm air from the vents, and I didn't have to leave my jacket on."

Unfortunately, I'm experiencing the same issue. In the Audi 80, whether it has air conditioning or manual climate control, the flap for the air vent is slightly smaller than the opening, so there's always a bit of air leaking out, which I'm now missing.
However, there is a solution: Perform a basic calibration and hold the servo motor just before it reaches the end position. This allows the climate control system to learn this end position, and the flap will always remain slightly open. 1993 Audi 80 B4 1Z

Later versions shouldn't have this problem anymore; IMHO, there was a change in the software. Otherwise, as Wolfi already said, you can work around the default setting...
