A2 AMF Air Filter: Strange Issue!

also ich will mal berichten was mir heute passiert ist. Wir haben hier einen A" 1,4 TDI MKB AMF. EIn richtig tolles Auto in meiner sicht. Mit dem sind alle die Ihn fahren super zufrieden. ( naja er verbraucht etwas viel für seine Größe, aber egal) Da er nun bald nach 14 Monaten 30tkm gelaufen hat und ich an sich nichts vom AUdi und VW Service halte, kümmerte ich mich mal um den anstehenden Service. Soweit so gut. Die Motorhaube abbauen, die Unterbodenverkapselung abscharuben ( da fing es schon an, Schrauben ohne ende bis ganz oben in den Radkasten ), Öl raus Filter ruas und so weiter halt. Da war ich mit allem fertig und dachte, das ich auch noch den Luftfilter mal eben tausche. Steht zwar nicht an, aber irgendwie ist es hier immer etwas sehr staubig. Also nochmal unter die Motorhaube ( die ja ab war ) gesehen und keinen LuFi gefunden. Die Ladeluftstrecke verfolgt und das Teil ganz unten vorne links ( beifahrerseite ) vor dem Rad gefunden. Von unten nachgesehen und festgestellt. Mist an die Verschraubung kommst du nicht dran, da störrt das Unterteil der Stoßstange. Ok abbauen. .... Geht nicht sei denn man hat Lust die Ganze SToßstange abzubauen, es handdelt sich um ein Teil. Naja dann mal den innenkotflügel rausbauen. Das ging. mit mächtig biegen kam dann auch der Luftfilter einsatz raus. Ist so ein Runder etwa 35cm langer. Und der war mächtigst dreckig. Nun gut den Ersatzfilter von Mahle hatte ich schon mitgebracht und wollte Ihn auf den gleichen weg reinschieben. Das ging aber, warum sollte es so einfach sein, nicht. Der Durchmesser der Röhre war beim Mahle Filter 1,5 mm zu gering. Naja lnages hin und her, daraufhin habe ich das ganze Gehäuse ausgebaut und mal nachgesehen was da das Problem war, weil von schräg unten konnte man nicht erkennen warum es nicht auch so gehen sollte. However, since the four clips on the air filter seemed inflexible, I reluctantly went to Volkswagen to get the original replacement filter because I wanted it to be done properly.
There were two differences. The first was that the item was exactly three times more expensive than the one from Male (including accessories with a discount). The second was the VW Audi packaging. Everything else was 100% identical! Therefore, it doesn't fit. According to the Audi workshop technician, I haven't replaced the A2 air filter on any TDI models yet... okay, he won't be getting ours either.
So, to conclude, I heated up the plastic nozzles at the top and adjusted them to fit the new filter. They fit perfectly, and everything is sealed properly.
Oh yeah, and then I spent another hour assembling and screwing together plastic parts, everything went perfectly.

BUT: Who builds such garbage? I need to take some pictures to show you the mounting bracket. What do they do at AUDI according to the workshop manual? I've noticed that it seems very easy to remove the entire front bumper. Is there a trick to it?

You don't need any tools to open the hood. There are two levers in the service compartment, and that's all it takes to release the hood!

The A2 isn't the only car with a poorly designed air filter. VW Lupos, for example, also have this issue. And I find it hard to believe that the workshop has never replaced an air filter on an A2 TDI, especially given the current popularity of TDIs! It might be tricky, but it's possible. The easiest way is with a lift and two people!

Well, I agree about the issue with the lie, especially now that I know it also applies to the Lupo. But between us, here where I live, you see A2s as often as you see Ferraris...

That should be something a friendly person can manage, shouldn't it?

The 1.4 TDI engine in the A2 is a machine built for dominating country roads.
'That's not a lot for fuel consumption.'
And the V6 TDI engine is probably not known for being easy to maintain.

The statement from the Audi representative leads me to only one conclusion:
They might not even change the filter, even if they are supposed to according to the schedule, and then they would certainly factor that into their calculations.
What is difficult to do might not get done at all. Hopefully, the customer won't notice.
